At Lumilove Wedding Planner, we believe that distance is just a detail when two hearts align. This wedding was a stunning bridge between the vast steppes of Kazakhstan and the tropical soul of Sabah, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Shangri-La Tanjung Aru.
After the march-in, we have the Korovai Ceremony
One of the most touching moments was the introduction of a beautiful Kazakh/Eastern European tradition.
According to tradition, whoever takes the larger bite is playfully named the "head of the household." It is a lighthearted way to determine who will "rule" the home, bringing plenty of laughter and joy to the wedding celebration! The Bride’s Nostalgic Vision: The 'Tikam-Tikam' Game
One of our favorite highlights from the day was a brilliant idea brought to us by the bride herself. Wanting to share a piece of her childhood with her guests—and especially with the groom’s family from Kazakhstan—she envisioned a nostalgic 'Tikam-Tikam' card-drawing game.
To bring her vision to life, the Lumilove team took charge of the full setup and coordination. We designed a custom 'Tikam-Tikam' board that blended perfectly with the reception's aesthetic, creating a fun, interactive station that sparked instant conversation.
Getting to Know the Couple: The "Origin Story" Q&A
Between courses, we hosted an intimate and lively Q&A session that truly touched the hearts of everyone in the room. This was a special moment for guests to delve into the couple's "origin story," learning exactly how a groom from Kazakhstan and a bride from Sabah first met. To add a touch of whimsy to the afternoon, the couple then engaged in a short Fairy Tale Roleplay game.
Planning a multi-cultural wedding? Whether you want to incorporate bread from Central Asia or games from your local hometown, Lumilove Wedding Planner is here to make your vision seamless and aesthetic.
